Is Laser Hair Removal Safe?

Laser hair removal is generally considered safe when performed by a qualified and experienced professional. The procedure involves using a concentrated beam of light (laser) to target and destroy hair follicles, thereby reducing hair growth. However, as with any cosmetic procedure, there are some potential risks and side effects.

At KLYNIK we are fully aware of all the potential risks and side affects, which we always avoid by having extensive experience and following the devices treatment guidelines. The risk and side affects tend to occur do the following reasons below:

1. Inexperienced laser therapists - It is very important your treatment is provided by experienced laser therapists as most laser devices in the industry are of medical grade. Meaning the devices are very powerful and can only be used by highly trained and experienced therapists. At KLYNIK all our therapists are qualified to the highest level required to perform laser treatments which is Level 4 beauty and aesthetics therapy. Plus our preferred prerequisite requirement is the therapist must already possess over 2 years prior experience in laser hair removal. Additionally all our therapists go through extensive 30 days of practical and theory training on our laser device which is the latest and most advanced laser device in the world the Quanta Thunder MT. Plus monthly training day’s to refine the skills and learn new procedures available on the Quanta Thunder MT device. It is very important to us at KLYNIK that our team always are very confident and have extensive experience to provide the most pleasant and successful outcome for our clients. Many of our competitors only provide 2 hours in house training before their therapists are providing treatments. In comparison to KLYNIK where our team would have had over 160 hours supervised training before they would treat a client.

2. Medical History - Not everyone is suitable for laser hair removal. There are many medical conditions that doesn’t allow for laser treatments. That is why we advise all clients to book a patch test and consultation so the client can fill out our medical form and provide us information on their medical history so we can assess if laser hair removal is the appropriate treatment for them. If you are not suitable we will not provide the treatment. Many clinics will still accept a client even though they are not suitable. This increases the chance of an adverse reaction occurring that would affect the client’s health resulting in a serious side effect.

3. Medication- There are hundreds of medications that can make the skin more sensitive to light and that is why it is important for us to know which medication you are taking so we can provide the treatment when you are not on any of these medications. This will also be discussed at your patch test and consultation.

4. Not adhering to the Pre & Post treatment advice - At KLYNIK we provide you with the pre and post treatment advice for laser hair removal. For example to avoid the sun, not plucking or waxing the hair, shaving before treatment, avoiding any creams or oils on your skin before and after your treatment. All of this will be discussed with you to provide the best treatment and avoid any adverse reactions.

Adverse reactions and side affects only occur if the above guidelines are not followed. That is why it is really important to have your laser hair removal treatments provided by a reputable experienced clinic with the latest most advanced devices and highly trained laser therapist that provide you with the information to guide you through your treatments with us.

We are also only a phone call away. At any time you have a question about your treatment or booking with us, or would like any information on your pre and post treatment advice we are always on hand to assist you.
