WHAT IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL?

Laser hair removal is the process in which the laser uses energy from a specific wavelength to precisely target hair follicles, destroying them in order to prevent future hair growth.

IS IT PAINFUL?

We use The THUNDER MT which incorporates the Qool-Air cooling device to decrease sensitivity during treatment. Also as it uses mixed technology laser it makes the Quanta Thunder the most comfortable and pain free device for treatment. At your first consultation you will be able to get an idea of how it feels when we do the patch test on the areas you would like to be treated.

HOW MANY LASER HAIR TREATMENTS DO I REQUIRE?

A minimum of 6 sessions is required if you are having laser hair removal for the first time, but this can vary person to person and the areas to be treated. Which is why we offer courses of 8 and 10 sessions for optimum results. If you are unsure, this can be discussed in your consultation where our laser therapists can advise you accordingly. Or you can give us a call and our laser experts will ask you a few questions to determine suitability and number of treatments.

HOW OFTEN ARE MY TREATMENTS?

Laser hair removal works best when the hair is in the anagen growth of stage. It is the only time the light energy can get to the hair follicle through the hair as both connect. Unfortunately, only 85% of all body hairs is in this stage at any point in time. Thus, you can only target 85% of your hair during each session. That is why you need several sessions to ensure the laser targets every single follicle every 4 weeks.

The laser will damage the hair follicle, however, some follicles may need more than one session to be fully damaged. Adhereing to the treatment timeline of every 4 weeks will optismise the overall results.

MY HAIR IS THICK AND DARK WILL I NEED MORE TREATMENTS?

The thicker and darker the hair the better results with laser.
If you have hormonal hair you will still see great results but frequent top-up treatments are needed.
If you have very fine hair especially on the face we can also treat this, due to the technology of our machine. It can target almost all hair types and hair colour.

CAN YOU TREAT ALL SKIN TYPES?

The THUNDER MT is the most advanced laser hair removal device suitable to treat all skin types from light to dark skin. As it has both the Alexandrite and Nd:YAG lasers. Which is the two main gold standard lasers required for the ability to treat light to dark skin. Alexandrite suitable for light skin tones and Nd:YAG suitable for dark skin tones.

IS IT AN ALEXANDRITE OR Nd:YAG LASER?

Our laser machine has both types of laser. Alexandrite and Nd:YAG. It is the latest and most advanced Medical Grade laser hair removal device. Meaning we can treat all skin types and almost all hair colours safely and effectively.

DO YOU PROVIDE TOP-UP OR MAINTENANCE SESSIONS?

You can book top-up or maintenance sessions at KLYNIK if you have a few stray hairs that you would like to get rid of, even if you had laser hair reduction treatments elsewhere. We always advise that you require a minimum of 3 to 6 sessions to reduce those stray hairs as we need to catch the hair at the anagen stage. It is not possible to catch every stray hair with just 1 or 2 sessions. Your laser therapist will advise you on approximately on how many sessions you will require.

WHAT AGE CAN I START LASER HAIR REMOVAL?

We only treat clients 18 years old and over.
In teenagers, hair growth can be faster and hormonal changes can play an impact. Results tend to become permanent once these hormonal changes have regulated around the age of 18. That is why it is always best to start laser hair removal from the age of 18 and over.

FOR MEN DO YOU TREAT THE GENITAL AREA?

We can perform Laser Hair Removal around the genitals, except the scrotum / testicles. As it is not advised to treat this area. We also include the perianal area as 1 price. This is named a Brazilian on our pricing diagram.

HOW QUICKLY CAN I GET STARTED?

All clients must have a Patch Test & Consultation first, even if they had Laser Hair Removal previously with a different clinic. This is compulsory and we cannot start treatment without it.
