What is folliculitis?

Folliculitis can occur before or after laser hair removal when the follicles become inflamed, infected or damaged. There could be many reasons why this could occur. Some of the most common reasons is shaving before treatment, if the razor is old or was kept in a damp or wet area for example the shower or bathroom, the blades become rusty (not visible to the eye) and carry bacteria which leads to an infection of the follicles.
